Thrael is about to get a little stranger. The winds are rising, the veil is thinning, and something… remarkable is coming to the skies.

As we move into Kolbre (October), prepare for a month-long lead-up to Vos’Siddix, our beloved day of tricks, hauntings, and terrible mischief. This year, we’re doing more than just whispering ghost stories – we’re opening the gates (or perhaps, the gangplank) to a brand-new festival experience.

Kolbre: Ghosts in the Mist

Throughout the entire month of Kolbre, spectral activity will rise across the world. Ghostly entities will manifest in the wilds – seek them out, battle them, and harvest their ectoplasm. These spectral remains are highly prized in Bleyke, the underworld city, where new curiosities, oddities, and seasonal treats will be on offer.

Festival Season: Something in the Air

When Mylywyth begins on Kolbre 21, the festival will open through the end of the month. Expect a variety of merchants, raffles, and services – including sought-after items like alterations, flares, resistances, and more.

This year’s festival hub is… unconventional. It isn’t quite on the ground, but it will serve as a central gathering place for adventurers, traders, and the curious alike. Keep your eyes on the horizon when Mylywyth begins – you won’t want to miss this arrival.

RP Sundays & Thursdays

To make it easier for everyone to catch live events and interactions, we’re introducing dedicated RP blocks each week:

• Runestag (Thursday): 7 PM server time onward
• Sonstag (Sunday): 1 PM – 4 PM server time

During these periods, the Interactions Team will be more active, and plot-related events are more likely to unfold. Bring your characters, your questions, and your curiosity – this is your best chance to get involved in the ongoing storylines.

Vos’Siddix: The Night of Mischief

On Kolbre 31, we celebrate Vos’Siddix – the festival of masks, tricks, and all things uncanny. Expect the unexpected: strange happenings, eerie encounters, and maybe a few mischievous surprises. Costumes and in-character festivities are encouraged!

🌙 Moonfall: Shadows and Silver Light

The skies of Thrael have been anything but calm. The great celestial event known as Moonfall has swept the land into uncertainty and wonder. From the strange visions seen in the Tower of the Silver Light to whispers of the Certainty Veil and the enigmatic Refraction, fate seems to have set the world upon a knife’s edge. Adventurers across the realms have taken up the call — to seek the truth behind what might fall, and what might yet rise.

🎉 A Celebration of Vos’Siddix

While the heavens turn and secrets stir, not all is grim. To mark the turning of the season — and perhaps to tempt fate with a little joy — a special traveling merchant will be arriving to honor Vos’Siddix, the Festival of Masks, in mid-Kolbre. This new, mysterious vendor will offer limited-edition wares and curious trinkets found nowhere else in Thrael. Seek them while you can; when the masks are packed away, so too will their goods vanish.

🧭 Charting the Stars: Astrolabe & Navigation Updates

Currently in Dev and soon to be migrated to Live: Explorers and skywatchers alike will be pleased to know that astrolabes have received a significant overhaul, along with the sky, celestial objects, new time zones across the realms, and everything in between. Whether you’re plotting a course across stormy seas or aligning your gaze to the distant moons, these refinements bring you closer than ever to the heart of the stars.

Behind the Scenes

While you’ve been exploring, we’ve been hard at work modernizing the classic engine:

• We’ve made significant backend updates, including upgrading the game’s underlying .NET version, moving steadily toward modern development standards.
• Our primary focus right now is on bug fixes and system stability, ensuring a smoother experience across the board.

New Features Released

• Fishing record boards are live! Track the largest catches in-game and leave your mark.
• Mimics (yes, those mimics) have been introduced and will play a role in the soon-to-be-released overhauled loot system.
• The Fame Queue is officially reopened! You can now request custom alterations, story items, and personalized additions again.
• We are actively monitoring and rewarding outstanding roleplay, so get out there and make your mark on the world!

Open Communication

• Our staff team is more accessible than ever, and we’ve recommitted to transparency, including an open moderation policy.
• We recently hosted a live in-game Q&A session, and players can continue to submit questions, ideas, and feedback via the forums.

What’s Next?

• Finalized lore updates for the Deities are almost ready to share.
• Work has begun on refreshing Countries and Empires to reflect the post-collapse world after the fall of the Vashan Empire.
• We’re laying the foundation for the future—one where player creativity and world-driven storytelling remain at the heart of UL.

The time has come—we’re excited to announce that Unwritten Legends will officially reopen on March 29th, 2025! After months of hard work, engine updates, and system integrations, we’re ready to welcome everyone back to the world of Thrael.

✅ Here’s What You Need to Know:

• Automated Account Emails Incoming – All returning players will receive an email at the address associated with their account. This message will include:
  • Your account name
  • A newly generated secure password
  • Our login server and port information
• Cutoff Rescinded – Everyone’s Included – We’ve removed the previous cutoff for account reactivation. All accounts that have ever actively logged in are now included in the reopening campaign—no matter how long it’s been since you last played.
• Classic Engine Lives On – You can still find legacy resources and information at: 🌐 https://unwrittenlegends.net/wiki/ That said, some new features and mechanics will continue surfacing in the classic engine as we quietly begin testing pieces of Unwritten Legends 2.0.
• New Account Applications Open – For new players or returning players without access to an old account, the new application system will launch on reopening day. Applications will be verified and processed automatically through our updated system.
