Metallurgy

From Unwritten Legends Wiki

Metallurgy is a slightly advanced skill that allows one to melt down ore and some other metal items into ingots.

You need to see one of the many merchants in the towns throughout Thrael who sell crucibles and ingot molds.  You will also need a good amount of wood to start the forge, something to light it with, and something to melt.  Nuggets are the most common kind of item.

When you find a forge, you want to start lighting your fuel on fire.  The most common way to do this is with wood logs and a match.  Light your match with with <light match>.  Then you want to light your logs with <light log> and put the log in the forge with <put log in forge>.

Once you start putting burning logs in the forge, it will start heating up.  You can see the temperature of the forge with <look forge>.  Once the temperature hits 250 degrees you can <pump bellows> to get it even hotter.

After getting the forge hot, you will want to get your meltable item and put it in the crucible.  For a nugget you would <put nugget in crucible>.  You then want to <put crucible in forge>.  Now you want to <refine crucible> to start melting the metal in the crucible.  If the forge isn't hot enough to melt the metal, you will want to <pump bellows> a few more times.

Now that the metal is melted, you need to place your ingot mold on the ground. For a nugget, you will want to use a small ingot mold.  Then <fill mold from crucible> to fill the mold.  Don't drink the molten metal and don't touch the crucible while it is still glowing. Finally, <cool mold> to set the molten metal into the shape of an ingot.  The metal won't be able to be cooled until it fills the entire mold.
