Enchanting
The purpose of the ENCHANT command is to increase the maximum number of charges an already-enchanted item has or increase the number of charges it currently has. You do not need to know the spell enchanted to do either of those things, and for now, you cannot make your own enchanted items. They must be purchased or looted. You cannot increase the number of charges on an item that no-longer has spells on it. Therefore, you must remember to recharge it before expending the last charge.
Typing ENCHANT <item> will bring up this menu: 1..Modify [Spell name]
q..Quit
Selecting modify will open something like this:
Total Arcana: <Your total Arcana> Current Charges: Current Max Charges: Please select an option: <1>.................Increase charges, expending <#> arcana per charge. <2>.................Increase maximum charges, expending <#> arcana per. q.......Quit
Just enter the number for the options.
To gain arcana simply DISENCHANT an item that still has charges on it. This will either destroy it or render it inert. Try to avoid accidentally disenchanting faire items. You can disenchant ANY item with spells on it, even if you cannot ENCHANT it.
Your skill in enchantment will determine whether you can recharge an item, and how much you can increase the maximum charges. The greater your skill, the more you can increase both. The skill is trained through both disenchanting and enchanting.
