Wings don't use armor slots anymore, and were converted to the "back" slot for purposes of aiming; enemies can no longer target wings for damage and so they no longer need an armor slot. Wing-slots are only used for particular worn items. The same goes for tails.

If so, those must be holdover remnants from the prior system. Is there even armor that fits on "wings" anymore? I wouldn't worry about it since the "back" armor does the job fully.

The 702 is simply 54 (cost per slot for plate armor) * 13 (amount of armor slots). You'll then have to subtract from that number if you have a strength bonus, or add to it if you have a penalty. So if you have a bonus of 64 (I believe that's the highest, which belongs to Valek and Sere gharkins), you'd only need 640 skill to wear full plate. With a penalty of -61 (I believe that's the lowest for Bramble sylphs), you'd need 763 Armor skill to wear full plate without encumbrances.

Wing armor slots

There are 13 armor slots in Unwritten Legends. Wearing a full set of plate armor would require 702 skill points with a neutral strength bonus.

Nymphs and brambles have 2 wing slots, for a total of 15! However, I'm not sure exactly how the math on them works. Wings inherit the armor value from the back slot, but I don't know if this means additional skill points are required. Munin, how did you determine that 702 number? I'd like to see if it holds true for Demens. --Dorandraco (talk) 18:46, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
