We have completed a major pass on the game’s secondary-stage astrodynamics and sky systems. The sky, moons, stars, constellations, weather visibility, astrolabes, staff diagnostics, and day/night-dependent room logic now pull from the same canonical astronomy model instead of separate older calculations.
World Dynamics and Astronomy
World Dynamics and Astronomy
- Rebuilt sky state around canonical room-local astronomy, including latitude, longitude, local time, daylight bucket, season, sunrise, sunset, solar altitude, moon state, stars, constellations, and anomalies.
- Updated look sky, astrolabe output, staff sky diagnostics, and related celestial objects to use the same source of truth.
- Added constellation support using authored constellation data, with visible constellation mentions in the sky and direct constellation look/appraise support.
- Added foundations for sky anomalies such as comets, rings, debris fields, and meteor showers.
- Added Moonfall world-state support for future Tallow/post-impact presentation and anomaly behavior.
- Improved astrolabe star visibility, moon visibility, staff debug output, and directional sky projection.
- Fixed older day/night dependencies so room darkness parsing, weather, spells, and related systems follow canonical sky state.
- Added climate and biome profile support as an additive layer over existing weather tables.
- Added future support for meteor shower weather.
- Fixed sky weather message resolution so sky messages use the correct weather sky-message table.
- Preserved existing special-case weather behavior such as mountain/perpetual snow overrides.
- Cleaned up firearm priming messaging.
- Expanded OOC whisper support for room/group usage.
- Added room and here arguments for OOC whispers to everyone in the user's current room.
- Improved OOC whisper targeting and user feedback.
